When you host a giveaway on PLAYR, you'll generate first party data that gets automatically imported into Surf Analytics. All the data from every campaign you've ever run will exist in your PLAYR database, but our filters will allow you to interact with that first party data to create segments and generate valuable insights.
These filters can be stacked on each other, so remember that you can create super detailed cross-sections of your giveaway entrants, and therefore your audience!
Here's a breakdown of the filters you can apply to the data generated by your giveaway:
Segment your data by campaign or giveaway:
If you hosted 3 different giveaways as part of a product launch campaign, you can segment all the data from that specific campaign. Or, choose to focus on one particular giveaway to get a detailed look at those specific entrants.
Entry Method Type
Filter your entrants by Entry Method Type to segment users who executed a certain category of action on your giveaways.
Want to see who signed up to your mailing list vs. who followed your Twitter? Maybe you prefer to look at the success of various entry methods- comparing them to one another could inform your future campaigns. The popularity of different entry method types can give you a lot of insights into the types of social platforms that your audience values.
The entry method filter differs from the Entry Method Type filter because it is customized to your specific giveaway entry methods, not just the type of action.
For example, if Surf was hosting a giveaway, we might include two different Instagram entry methods:
1. Follow @joinsurf on Instagram
2. Follow @surfforbrands on Instagram
The Entry Method Type in this case is Instagram Follow for both, but the Entry Method filter will allow us to segment entrants who followed Surf vs. entrants who followed Surf for Brands.
If you're a brand working with multiple influencers to promote your giveaway, for example, you'll be able to see which influencer generated the most engagement on their social channels for you, which could give you some insights around who is most aligned with your brand's audience.
When you create a giveaway, you have the option to add custom tags to each campaign. Filter across giveaways and campaigns to create engagement segments based on your custom criteria.
Add tags for specific brand partners, prizes, KPIs, and more to create truly custom segments, then use our filters to focus in on the entrants who match your criteria. Or compare those segments to get insights into what types of campaigns or prizes are most successful with your audience!
Search for entrants in a specific self-identified location to get reliable, compliant insights into where your audience is located in the world.
Filter for age group and layer with other filters to get detailed insights into the behaviour of your audience. Want to see if Twitter or TikTok is more popular among your entrants who are between 25-32? Easy.
