Just add all gift cards back... that's easy right?
Imagine we offered an unlimited amount of $10 Amazon gift cards and had 1 million users. If 10% of our userbase redeemed the Amazon gift card each month that would mean that we actively spent $12 million from our own pockets in a year. As a Toronto-based start-up (not a multi-billion dollar company like Microsoft), we currently cannot afford that but that hasn’t stopped our team from trying to get Amazon onboard. Instead of not providing the reward at all, we decided to provide the reward in a limited quantity so we could show Amazon the insane demand our users have for their reward (i.e. the limited rewards sell out ultra fast). So far we’ve gotten great numbers to prove this and it’ll help our team set up conversations with Amazon!
